Wednesday, April 23-Day in Lititz-Join us as we start the day at The Lititz Moravian Museum and Archives which offers the visitor a close-up look at many rare and intriguing historical items that range from one of the earliest colonial era fire engines extant (Feuer Spritzer), to the first American-made viola (John Antes - 1764). This fascinating collection tells the stories of our rich Moravian religious history, music, community structure, and educational system. Next we will explore the unique history of Lititz, Pennsylvania with a guided tour of the 1792 Johannes Mueller House! You'll learn what a Moravian is, and how they lived and worked right here in this authentic 18th century home. After the tour, we will walk across the street to the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery. We will tour the original bakery, get a hands-on lesson in pretzel twisting, observe bakers twisting old-fashioned pretzels by hand, and shop for delicious treats and souvenirs in the bakery store.
